Save Music In Our Schools!
You may have heard that Fairfax County has a severe budget shortfall projected for the next school year. The county is considering the removal of ALL Elementary Band and Orchestra programs from Fairfax County Public Schools. This will result in a savings of $7 million dollars out of a $162 million dollar shortfall. This really will move to eliminate ALL ELEMENTARY MUSIC PROGRAMS. The foundation will be GONE!

Here is another link with other budget considerations.Don't miss the important points - some apprent choices are putting adminstrative technology above the childs education. Don't sit on the side lines; GET INVOLVED! Removing Curriculum and Student Education is not the answer!
Please make your voices heard. Cutting music in elementary school might save a few dollars now, but the negative impact over many years will far outweigh any short term savings. This will severely impact not only the students in elementary schools, but middle and high school programs as well in years to come. Starting music at a young age is extremely important. We can't let the county cut our music programs.

Please let the county know THEY CANNOT CUT ELEMENTARY SCHOOL MUSIC. IT IS TOO IMPORTANT FOR OUR STUDENTS!

Through a combined volunteer effort, fundraising, and active organizational planning the Chantilly High School Music Boosters provides a unique service to the students and staff of this outstanding music program. The summary goals, academic achievement, and educational growth of our students is enhanced by the efforts of this strong community organization. And truly, this is the best way for parents, families, and community members to participate and support the music program. The support of Parents, Friends, Alumni, and Communiity Members enables our music directors to focus on the educational experiences of our students and provide the best possible program of studies.
