The Chantilly Choral Student is a busy, active participant in the performing arts. It is our hope that we may provide or direct students to services that may help them pursue these skills and study areas.
Students may request assistance as needed from their teacher/director, and schedule opportunities for academic/performance help during the planned remediation period at Chantilly High School.
In addition, there are numerous resources that may benefit students. Information about and links to many music education websites are listed below. General department information can be found on our website and in the student handbook as well.
The school Blackboard system may also be a resource for students throughout the school year.
Below is a short list of local private voice instructors, music stores, and dance studios. This list is by no means all inclusive, nor do we recommend or promote one particular private business over another. Many students may already study with someone not on this list. Local families are a great resource to obtain references for other studios, stores, and instructors. These particular references are also listed with school proximity in mind.
We happily receive recommendations and additions to this list and will do our best to keep it updated. We simply provide this list, as a starting place, for your convenience.
There are many resources for stereo equipment, recordings and such in the community (for example, Best Buy, Radio Shack, Target, Wal Mart). Online music resources are also abundant. An online resource for print music can be found at www.jwpepper.com, or locally at Foxes Music in Falls Church.
Our local colleges, such as George Mason University, George Washington University, Catholic University and Northern Virginia Community College, are great resources (just to name a few). Some of our local recording studios also provide educational services.
Finally, our community is abundant with concert and live performance venues such as local community theatre, religious organizations, dinner theatres, and International Embassies, not to mention prestigious professional stages like Wolf Trap, The National Theatre, and The Kennedy Center.
